VLF India has introduced the Strada electric scooter to the domestic market, with prices starting at ₹1.20 lakh. The vehicle enters the expanding urban zero-emission segment with a structured lineup consisting of two distinct versions.
The launch places the model directly into competition within the mid-to-high urban mobility tier, addressing consumer demand for extended battery range and distinct styling. Buyers can select between the entry-level City variant and the long-range Max variant.
The City variant is priced at ₹1.20 lakh and comes fitted with a 2.16kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed Indian Driving Conditions range of up to 130 km. Meanwhile, the Max variant is retailed at ₹1.55 lakh, housing a larger 4.32kWh battery that extends the claimed range to 250 km. Both versions utilize Lithium Iron Phosphate battery chemistry and accommodate swapping systems.
Propulsion is managed by a brushless direct current hub motor that generates a peak power output of 4.8kW alongside 34Nm of maximum torque. Performance parameters are regulated through three selectable operating modes named Eco, City and Sport. These configurations cap the maximum velocity at 45 km/h, 65 km/h and 85 km/h respectively. Acceleration from standstill to 50 km/h takes approximately 10 seconds.
Styling cues comprise a dual-beam LED projector headlamp, built-in turn indicators, an elevated windscreen, and a stepped two-piece seating arrangement alongside an integrated rear luggage carrier. Practical amenities feature a 5-inch TFT instrument console, keyless ignition, an illuminated switch surround, and dual USB Type-A and Type-C charging outlets.
The chassis rests on a 16-inch front wheel paired with a 14-inch rear wheel setup. Stopping power relies on disc brakes mounted on both ends, augmented by a Combined Braking System. The company offers the scooter in four paint schemes: Carbonio Black, Urbano Silver, Titanio Grey and Luna White.
Market availability and deliveries across retail dealerships are slated to ramp up through the upcoming retail cycle as the brand expands its footprint across metropolitan centres.
