Actor Nana Patekar passed away at the age of 75 at his residence in Goa during the early hours of Thursday after suffering a cardiac arrest. Dr. Shekhar Salkar stated that the actor was brought to a private hospital after being found unconscious at his apartment in Dona Paula, near Panaji.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with several political figures and film fraternity members including Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, expressed grief over his demise, noting his extensive contributions to Hindi and Marathi cinema. The Maharashtra government announced that his final rites will be conducted with full State honours, with the family deciding whether the funeral will take place in Mumbai or Pune.
