The Securities and Exchange Board of India has extended the regulatory relaxation permitting companies planning initial public offerings to revise their issue sizes by up to 50 percent without filing fresh draft documents. Under the updated framework, issuers heading to the primary market can scale their offerings up or down through March 31, 2027.
Initially introduced to cushion corporate issuers against volatile market swings, the policy enables merchant bankers to update offer documents directly, provided the core objectives of the fundraising remain intact. Market participants note that the extension offers greater operational maneuvering room for firms awaiting stable listing windows amid shifting liquidity conditions.
