Punjab National Bank has implemented a revised schedule of service charges across its Visa and RuPay credit card variants, introducing higher fees for ATM cash advances, updated late payment tiers, and a new levy on high-value utility bill settlements. The updated fee structure took effect on November 1.

The revisions directly impact cardholders managing routine liquidity, credit dues, and heavy digital utility spending. With financial institutions tightening parameters on unsecured credit and transaction costs, the updated schedule alters the cost of carrying balances and executing cash transactions through banking channels.

Under the revised terms, cash advance transactions executed at bank-owned ATMs will attract a charge of 2.5% of the withdrawn amount or ₹400, whichever is higher. For cash withdrawals conducted at other domestic ATMs, the applicable fee rises to 2.5% of the transaction value or ₹500, whichever is higher.

Significant modifications have also been applied to late payment charges based on outstanding statement balances. The bank restructured its slab-based late fees to manage unpaid dues across retail credit accounts. Furthermore, reward point redemptions now carry a fixed service fee of ₹99 per request, and duplicate statement requests covering periods older than three months will incur separate charges.

A notable addition to the fee schedule targets high-volume utility transactions. Utility bill payments exceeding ₹50,000 within a single billing cycle will attract a 1% fee on the total transaction amount, subject to a maximum cap of ₹2,000 per transaction. Previously, such utility payments did not incur this category-specific surcharge.

Additional adjustments involve processing fees for balance transfers, cheque returns, and auto-debit dishonour events. All stated fees remain exclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax, which will be levied in accordance with government regulations.

Cardholders are advised to review their billing statements and configure auto-payment clearances to account for the revised slabs. Monitoring high-value utility thresholds and reward point redemptions will help users mitigate unexpected charges under the updated framework.
