Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had accepted defeat even before the commencement of a planned political agitation in the national capital. Speaking to reporters at the Mumbai airport before boarding his flight, Mr. Dipke maintained that the extensive security deployment and sweeping restrictions across New Delhi demonstrated an administration terrified of public dissent.

The political confrontation unfolded as the CJP organized its Jantar Mantar 2.0 demonstration to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged electoral roll irregularities during the Special Intensive Revision. The mobilization drew intense national attention amid sharp polarization between opposition groups and security authorities regarding public assembly rights.

Shortly after landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, Mr. Dipke, alongside co-conveners Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, was detained by Delhi Police from inside the aircraft. Party representatives stated that the leadership lost contact with the detained figures for over twelve hours following the police action.

Ahead of the planned assembly, authorities enforced stringent security measures across the capital, deploying more than 20,000 police and Central Armed Police Forces personnel. Barricades, spike strips, and checkpoints were installed at major transit corridors, while entry and exit gates at numerous Delhi Metro stations were temporarily closed. Authorities also suspended internet services in the vicinity of the central district.

Law enforcement personnel detained thousands of individuals overnight and throughout the day across various parts of the city to prevent gatherings near the designated protest venue. Prominent public figures, including political commentators and regional opposition leaders, faced detention as security forces cracked down on attempts to assemble.

Despite the detentions of top organizers, CJP functionaries announced plans to persist with mobilization efforts. Party representatives vowed to continue gathering in the capital until their core demands regarding the election machinery are addressed.

Legal challenges against the police action have begun to move through the judiciary. The Supreme Court scheduled a hearing to examine petitions contesting the legality of the widespread detentions of students, activists, and political figures during the security operation.
