Karnataka releases tentative SSLC and II PUC exam timetables for 2027

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board has published tentative schedules for the 2026-27 annual board examinations, setting II PUC exams from February 27 and SSLC tests from March 22.

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board has released the tentative schedules for the 2026-27 Secondary School Leaving Certificate and Second Pre-University annual examinations. According to the notification issued by the board, the annual examinations for Class 12 will commence on February 27, 2027, while Class 10 board tests are slated to begin on March 22, 2027.

The advance release of the examination calendar allows lakhs of students across the state to structure their preparation and revision timelines ahead of the upcoming academic tests. The board has also opened a formal window for stakeholders to submit feedback or grievances regarding overlapping dates or scheduling conflicts.

For Second Pre-University students, the Examination 1 series is scheduled to run from February 27 to March 17, 2027. The subsequent Examination 2 for II PUC candidates has been mapped out from May 3 to May 15, 2027. Meanwhile, SSLC Examination 1 will take place between March 22 and April 5, 2027, followed by Examination 2 scheduled from May 24 to May 31, 2027.

The SSLC annual assessment will kick off with first language papers, including Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, English, and Sanskrit. Core subjects such as Science and Political Science are positioned for March 25, followed by second language papers on March 27, and Mathematics alongside Sociology on March 30. Third language papers and National Skills Qualifications Framework subjects are set for April 2, concluding with Social Science on April 5.

Most theory papers for both educational levels are slated to begin at 10:00 am. SSLC core papers and first-language examinations will run for three hours and fifteen minutes until 1:15 pm, while second and third-language tests are structured for a duration of two hours and forty-five minutes ending at 1:00 pm. Specific adjustments have been made for elective disciplines like Hindustani and Carnatic Music, which are assigned afternoon slots from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm on March 25.

The board has established a 15-day objection window starting October 8, 2026, allowing students, parents, and educators to review the drafts. Representations concerning SSLC schedules must be directed via email to dpikseab@gmail.com, while queries and objections regarding the II PUC calendar should be sent to directorpuekseab@gmail.com before the deadline closes on October 22, 2026.

Officials indicated that submissions received past the expiration date will not be entertained. Following the review of feedback submitted during this consultation period, the board will finalize and publish the definitive examination timetables on its official portal.
