The Department of School Education and Literacy, Karnataka, is scheduled to initiate the application process for the state Bachelor of Education admissions in October. Thousands of aspirants eyeing professional educator careers across government, aided, and private institutions will access the portal through the official state website.
This centralized admission procedure determines entry into the two-year undergraduate professional degree course. Applicants target seats spanning numerous institutions approved by the National Council for Teacher Education, with significant infrastructure concentrated in metropolitan hubs like Bengaluru.
Selection relies strictly on academic merit derived from qualifying graduation or post-graduation marks rather than a separate written entrance examination. General category candidates require a minimum aggregate of 50 percent marks from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission or equivalent bodies.
Relaxation policies apply to applicants from reserved categories including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Category-I, and persons with disabilities, lowering the minimum eligibility threshold to 45 percent. Graduates holding degrees in engineering or technology must secure an aggregate of 55 percent in specific science and mathematics coursework.
State domicile criteria remain mandatory for candidates claiming seats under the government quota. Final-year undergraduate students are permitted to submit provisional applications, provided they produce valid passing certificates and final mark sheets during subsequent document verification stages.
Following the conclusion of the online submission window, authorities will publish a merit list and conduct online counselling sessions across multiple rounds. Original credential checks will take place at designated District Institute of Education and Training and College of Teacher Education nodal centres.
