Hyundai Motor India Limited announced on Sunday that its total monthly sales reached 82,299 units in October, marking the highest-ever monthly volume recorded by the automaker since it began operations in the country. The figure represents a 17.7 percent increase compared to the 69,892 units sold during the corresponding month of the previous year.
The milestone reflects strong vehicle demand during the peak festive season, alongside double-digit growth across both domestic and overseas shipping channels. Domestic market dispatches accounted for 62,799 units, registering a 16.7 percent year-on-year rise from 53,792 units in October 2025. Sequentially, domestic volumes also improved over the 57,166 units recorded in September.
Export shipments from the company's Sriperumbudur manufacturing hub expanded at a faster pace, climbing 21.1 percent to touch 19,500 units compared to 16,100 units a year earlier. Overseas shipments accounted for nearly a quarter of the total monthly tally, underscoring the company's expanding footprint across more than 50 international markets.
Within the domestic product portfolio, the Hyundai Venue compact SUV posted its highest-ever monthly volume with 13,017 units delivered to customers. The model represented approximately one in every five vehicles sold by the manufacturer in the domestic market during the month, highlighting steady consumer preference for sub-four-metre utility vehicles.
Tarun Garg, managing director and chief executive officer of Hyundai Motor India Limited, stated that strong festive demand and healthy momentum across local and international segments enabled the company to achieve the record milestone. He added that the newly introduced Hyundai Bayon, which launched in the final week of October, is expected to provide additional momentum moving forward.
The sales performance follows the release of the company's financial results for the second quarter of the 2027 fiscal year on October 28. For the July-September quarter, Hyundai Motor India reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,196.16 crore, down 23.9 percent from Rs 1,572.26 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, even as revenue from operations grew 18.5 percent to Rs 20,696.06 crore.
Automotive market observers will watch whether the strong retail momentum established during October carries through the remainder of the festive season into November and December, offsetting cost pressures reported in earlier quarterly earnings.
