HP Inc. has expanded its professional workstation lineup in India with the introduction of the ZBook Ultra G3a, a thin-and-light mobile system engineered for local artificial intelligence computing, engineering design, and high-end content creation.
The deployment arrives as Indian enterprises and technology firms accelerate the adoption of on-device machine learning models. By packing high-end processing hardware into a portable form factor, the device addresses the growing demand among software developers and creative professionals for local execution environments that reduce reliance on cloud infrastructure.
Under the hood, the workstation can be configured with up to an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 processor. The system supports up to 192GB of unified memory, allocating up to 160GB of dedicated video RAM alongside a neural processing unit delivering 55 TOPS of performance. According to company specifications, this architecture enables users to execute large language models containing up to 300 billion parameters locally.
Measuring 17.9 millimetres in thickness and starting at approximately 1.9 kilograms, the machine incorporates a revised thermal cooling layout. HP stated that the structural modifications permit up to 100W of sustained performance delivery, marking an 81.8 percent increase in thermal design power efficiency relative to older generation hardware.
Visual output is handled by a 16-inch display utilizing OLED panel technology, featuring a 2.8K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate tailored for color-critical engineering and design tasks. Energy requirements are met by a 96Wh battery pack rated for up to 14 hours of operation, supplemented by compatibility with 140W and 180W gallium nitride USB-C power adapters.
"As AI becomes integral to professional workflows, the need for technology that combines performance, mobility and intelligence is growing," said Sanjeev Pathak, Senior Director of HP Solutions at HP India. "The HP ZBook Ultra G3a bridges this gap by bringing AI at the edge to a mobile workstation, enabling users to run advanced AI workloads and apply agentic AI to complex workflows."
Connectivity features include support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and optional MediaTek T900 5G mobile broadband. Security integrations comprise the proprietary HP Wolf Security suite. The chassis is constructed from Eclipse Gray aluminium and incorporates field-serviceable components, including an IT-replaceable keyboard designed to simplify maintenance and extend operational longevity.
The workstation is available through HP retail channels across the country, backed by a standard one-year limited parts and labour warranty. Market analysts expect the device to compete directly for enterprise contracts within engineering firms, design studios, and software development hubs in Bengaluru and other major technology centers.
