Electric two-wheeler manufacturer e-Sprinto introduced its first family-focused electric scooter, the G1, in India on Monday, marking the company's official expansion from commercial fleet operations into the retail consumer segment. Priced from ₹89,999 for the base version, the new vehicle aims to capture households seeking budget-friendly urban mobility options.

The entry into the business-to-consumer market reflects a broader push among domestic electric vehicle manufacturers to secure space within the household commuter segment. Having previously deployed tens of thousands of units across commercial delivery networks, the company utilized its operational background to engineer a machine suited to everyday urban and suburban household tasks.

The vehicle is offered in three battery configurations to accommodate varying travel distances and price points. The entry-level 2.0 kWh variant carries a price tag of ₹89,999 with a claimed range of up to 80 km. A mid-tier 2.5 kWh version is priced at ₹94,999, delivering an estimated range of 100 km. The top-tier 3.0 kWh variant costs ₹99,999, stretching the maximum distance capability to 130 km on a single full charge. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.

Performance metrics vary according to the selected power pack. The scooter features three primary riding modes designated as Eco, City, and Sport, alongside a dedicated reverse gear. Eco mode caps top speed at 30 km/h, City mode extends it to 40 km/h, and Sport mode allows velocities up to 50 km/h.

Engineering parameters emphasize practicality for Indian roads, incorporating a lightweight kerb structure of 81 kg alongside a payload capacity of 150 kg. Clearance stands at 165 mm, paired with 12-inch tubeless tyres. Powering units are enclosed within an IP67-rated casing to withstand dust and water exposure during monsoon conditions. Safety equipment includes a combined braking system alongside a digital instrument cluster. Navigation functionality is made available through an optional subscription model.

Bookings for the G1 have commenced through the manufacturer's digital portal. Customer deliveries across dealerships are scheduled to officially begin on January 1, 2027. Company founders indicate a sales target of approximately 5,000 units by the conclusion of the fiscal quarter in March 2027.

The introduction places e-Sprinto in direct competition with established domestic manufacturers operating in the sub-lakh-rupee household segment, including Ather Energy, Ola Electric, and Simple Energy. Market analysts expect competition in the affordable family electric vehicle category to intensify as firms scale production ahead of the upcoming fiscal year.
