An IndiGo flight operating from New Delhi to Chennai was diverted to Hyderabad on Sunday after smoke was detected from a passenger's personal electronic device stored in the cabin.

Flight 6E 6115 landed safely at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport following the incident. The airline stated that the cabin crew responded promptly to control the situation in line with established safety protocols.

An alternative aircraft was arranged to transport the passengers onward to Chennai. Aviation authorities maintain strict guidelines regarding lithium-ion batteries and portable electronic devices on commercial flights, urging passengers to keep such equipment accessible within the cabin to monitor potential hazards.
