Greaves Electric Mobility has expanded its electric two-wheeler portfolio with the national release of the updated Ampere Nexus EX+ electric scooter, carrying an ex-showroom price starting at ₹1,29,999 for the base variant. The refreshed model arrives at dealerships across the country in two distinct trims, aiming to capture a larger share of the competitive family EV segment.

The introduction of the revised scooter addresses consumer demand for stronger hill-climbing ability and enhanced urban performance. By upgrading powertrain outputs and incorporating weather-resistant charging hardware, the company seeks to position the vehicle more competitively against established rivals in the mid-to-high e-scooter bracket.

The primary mechanical revision on the Nexus EX+ is a new 5 kW electric motor that generates a peak wheel torque of 202 Nm. This upgraded motor propels the scooter from zero to 40 kilometres per hour in 4.5 seconds, while achieving a claimed top speed of 93 kilometres per hour. The manufacturer notes that the configuration improves gradeability, making it better equipped for steep flyovers, inclines, and pillion-riding conditions.

Energy storage relies on a 3 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, which delivers a certified Indian Driving Conditions range of 136 kilometres on a single charge. To improve practical usability during inclement weather, the vehicle is bundled with an updated 750-watt charger carrying an IP65 water-and-dust resistance rating.

The lineup is split into the standard EX+ variant priced at ₹1,29,999 and a higher-tier Nexus EX+ Intellipack version retailing at ₹1,35,999. Both prices are ex-showroom Delhi. Paying the ₹6,000 premium for the Intellipack version unlocks the Ampere Connect application suite, introducing more than 30 IoT-enabled connected functions.

Connected features on the top trim include live vehicle tracking, turn-by-turn navigation, geo-fencing, call and SMS alerts, remote diagnostics, and real-time battery health monitoring. Physical dimensions and hardware remain consistent with the broader platform, featuring 12-inch alloy wheels, a 170 mm ground clearance, a 765 mm seat height, and a kerb weight of 126.4 kilograms. Braking duties are handled by a front disc brake paired with a rear drum setup.

Standard warranty terms for the vehicle cover three years or 30,000 kilometres, whichever comes first, while the battery pack receives a separate warranty of five years or 75,000 kilometres. The scooter is offered in two paint schemes, Carbon Knight and Steel Grey.

Deliveries are underway through the brand's retail network across states. Industry analysts expect the updated pricing and improved motor specifications to impact retail sales volumes as manufacturers compete for consumer attention during the festive shopping cycle.
